New Strategic Lead Joins UniTaskr to Scale Student Work Platform Internationally

Jenny Welsh, Head of Growth and Strategy at UniTaskr & co-founder, Oliver Jacobs

UniTaskr, the fast-growing tech platform that helps students find flexible work opportunities, has appointed a new head of growth and strategy to help further its international expansion.

Jenny Welsh brings a strong track record in scaling digital platforms and driving growth across startups and youth-focused brands. Passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for young people, she also brings deep expertise in operations, business development, and marketing.

Launched by Joseph Black and Oliver Jacobs in 2019, UniTaskr has stayed true to its mission to revolutionise the gig economy by enabling companies to outsource tasks to students. The platform has since evolved into a thriving ecosystem with a workforce of 350,000 skilled students and clients that include world famous brands such as Adobe, Amazon, Uber Eats and Red Bull.

The innovative tech platform has also generated more than £10 million in income opportunities for students to date. Jenny’s work will continue to build on this success, leading on UniTaskr’s growth roadmap, with a focus on user acquisition, engagement, and monetisation. This also includes spearheading key initiatives including UniTaskr’s upcoming “24 Under 24” campaign, which spotlights emerging talent across the UK, as well as advancing strategic and university employer partnerships,

Speaking about her new role, Jenny Welsh, Head of Growth and Strategy at UniTaskr stated: “Helping young people to access opportunities to better themselves and set themselves up for the future is something I am very passionate about, so it’s a pleasure to join UniTaskr. Aligning commercial growth with meaningful impact is the key to supporting as many young people as possible and contributing to our next phase of growth.

“As a strong advocate for female leadership in tech, I also see this role as a chance to help drive greater representation in an industry that still lacks gender diversity, particularly in startup growth and strategy roles.”

Joseph Black, co-founder and CEO of UniTaskr, said: “Jenny’s enthusiasm for the industry and supporting young people completely aligns with our founding purpose of helping students earn, upskill and access meaningful opportunities in the changing world of work. It’s an exciting time for the business and we’re certain Jenny will be a real asset in helping us grow further.”

Oliver Jacobs, co-founder and CEO of UniTaskr, said: “Jenny’s extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we continue to navigate the changing job market and create new bridges between education and industry. This is an exciting opportunity to create even more pathways for young people, and we’re delighted to have her on board.”

Underpinned by a multi-platform ecosystem that successfully supports job creation, skill-building, and brand-student collaboration, UniTaskr is quickly revolutionising the path from education to employment, and over the last 24 months alone has expanded from the UK into the US.
