CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 5 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 10 2022 7 Mar22259 CEO of the Year, 2022 - Milan, Italy Mr Arthur Markaryan founded technological leader in R&D, DVB-TECH in 2019, steering it in Design and Manufacture of RF & Microwave Solid State Power Amplifier solutions ( Pulse & CW ) for Electronic Warfare (EW), RADAR, Satellite Communications(SATCOM) and Medical. We have recognised Mr Markaryan’s work and named him CEO of the Year, 2022 - Milan, Italy. Join us as we take a look at his extraordinary career and company. DVB-TECH is a turnkey solutions provider offering customers standard and custom design from device to sub-system level within its production facilities, producing rugged, power efficient, and cost-effective solutions using state-of-the-art latest technologies. Its team is made up of highly skilled RF/mechanical engineers who specialise in hardware/ software development. The company’s comprehensive portfolio of solutions is suited for the requirements of the world’s most critical industries. From a variety of radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), and satellite communications, DVB-TECH offers industries the highest quality and most costeffective solutions. Founder and CEO, Arthur Markaryan says, “Our Air and Liquid cooled Amplifiers incorporates the latest semiconductors and power combining technologies allowing us manufacture the highly effective and flexible COTS system amplifiers in the world. Solutions range from tens of watts to hundreds of Kilowatts from device to sub-system level covering frequency range from HF to Ka Band” Arthur Markaryan is a businessman with over 16 years’ experience, who, through his career, has held various management positions at Unique Broadband Systems (UBS), as a head of the Defence & Space division, where he nurtured key relationships and engendered strategic partnerships that led to significant revenue growth. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgia National University SEU, with an emphasis on finance and communications. Earlier in 2010, Mr Markaryan, while showing constant strength as a best-in-class industry leader, was driving the pace of innovation by founding the company which was then operating under the name, Digital Video & Audio Broadcasting Technology. He engaged in design and manufacturing of VHF/UHF SSPA Systems and significantly restructured the company, with its profile changing and expanding, including the manufacturing and technology development assets, to create the company known today as DVB-TECH. Now, 80% of DVB-TECH’s customers are the largest defence contractors who have very niche needs. Arthur gives us an insight into what this involves: “We approach each project individually. We constantly invest to continue developing innovative products and systems to meet the ever-changing needs of customers. We understand quality standards of our customers and are committed to developing products and systems that meet and exceed these standards. “Our products reflect the needs of our customers and the sectors we operate within. We pride ourselves on our very high levels of professionalism, not only in our products and systems, but also in the people that we employ. Our support staff have many years of experience and knowledge.” Indeed, DVB-TECH is an ideal place to work for those who are looking to expand their wealth of knowledge and expertise. As a global industry leader, it offers a dynamic and diverse team environment. It values the unique skills and qualities that each employee brings, and it respects each employee as an integral member of its growing team. It is thanks to the efforts of the team that DVB-TECH was able to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic stronger than ever before – because this period had a significant impact on the technology sector, affecting raw materials supply, disrupting the electronics value chain, and causing inflationary risk on products. At the beginning of the pandemic, the team soldiered through very serious problems with suppliers of microelectronics; many projects were at risk and a lot of work had to be put in to adapt to the new reality with minimal damages. Additionally, the company is proud that to this day, none of its employees lost their jobs due to the pandemic – in fact, it has only continued to hire highly skilled professionals. Arthur comments, “After facing this challenge, I feel more confident in myself and my team and this experience undoubtedly positively affected my role.” Now, DVB-TECH is focused on the future, with plans for the next 12 months including building up its presence in the USA, with it having recently successfully registered its subsidiary company, DVB-TECH (USA). This will involve not only a sales and support team, but also the manufacturing of products and systems. Then, over the next three to five years, it will continue to work on inevitable growth and subsidiaries and turning ideas into solutions for its customers. CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 6 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 10 2022 6 Utilising Data To Bolster Businesses At the helm of Go Live Data stands Adam Herbert, an innovative and dedicated CEO. His attitude to business and willingness to take risks has pushed Go Live Data into an industry leading position within the space of three years – therefore, he has earned the title of CEO of the Year, 2022 - Manchester, the United Kingdom. o Live Data utilises its engagement and data offerings to assist customers with client acquisition and, of course, retention. The company primarily offers data-driven products, such as data supply, data cleaning and enhancement, and data analysis. Moreover, Go Live Data provides engagement outreach through its own internal email marketing and QR campaigns which are driven by the data it possesses. The team has a duty to ensure that the businesses they work with use Go Live Data’s data in an ethical and responsible manner – and, in this regard, Go Live Data seeks to serve as a voice for improvement. Typically, Go Live Data collaborates with large corporations across multiple industries, including insurance, telecommunications, public sector, health and safety, and financial services. As a technology company working within the data and engagement field, Go Live Data is able to offer the market something it has never seen before, namely a new perspective on how to serve customers not only through data but also through the outreach and business objectives of its clients. ‘When we set-up the business we were well aware that our proposition and our approach was alien to how the industry had worked before,’ explains Adam Herbert, ‘and we knew that it was going to be a difficult task. Roll on coming up-to three years we have had real buy in from the market and we have been chosen by some of the world’s biggest businesses to help support their data and marketing goals.’ As both the CEO and Co-founder of Go Live Data, Adam Herbert bears the responsibility of leading the business. However, as he has over 20 years of experience within sales and marketing, he boasts a great amount of specialist knowledge surrounding business. It is this experience that has shaped his leadership style – he is known for being driven, communicative, and passionate. When discussing his leadership style, Adam states, ‘I believe leadership fundamentally starts with treating everyone how you wish to be treated yourself then pushing people to become even better through their own development, you have to give your people freedom to explore their roles and push the boundaries as this is the only way your business can continue to grow and evolve. I am very much a people first leader. It was hard taking the role of a CEO, it was more difficult than I expected, moving from managing in the micro to managing in the macro was a transition which took time and I also suffered from imposter syndrome at times, but this helped me to evolve into the business leader I am today.’ Through his ingenuity, Adam has pushed Go Live Data to overcome multiple hurdles. One such challenge involved keeping the company’s processes up to date in order to match the company’s growth. In his role, Adam was responsible for evaluating how these changes were impacting the business and whether they were made at the right time. Challenges, Adam believes, are great learning opportunities; mistakes can lead to continued growth. Consequently, over the next year, Go Live Data will continue to evolve and improve, with plans to launch several innovative products in the works. CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 8 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 10 2022 9 Making It Easier To Be Green Food waste is one of the major challenges faced by many businesses, and finding ways of processing that waste in an environmentally friendly way is often difficult. The team behind Green Eco Technologies, under the stalwart leadership of Rick Woods, have gone a long way to providing much-needed solutions. Recognised in CEO Monthly as CEO of the Year, 2022 - Melbourne, Australia, we caught up with Rick to uncover more of the secrets of his success. The need to make a dent in our combined carbon footprint has been the driving force behind many industries over the last few years. Often, however, these companies have not been able to achieve the results they’ve wanted without increase costs or changing back of house processes considerably. That’s where Green Eco Technologies comes in, offering patented technology for the onsite processing of food waste. The team’s services have been invaluable to businesses in the hospitality, medical, education, and shopping centre sectors, reducing a customer’s carbon footprint by up to 84%, and their food waste disposal costs by up to 30%. No two businesses are the same, so the team take the time to really understand the various processes involved and where food waste comes from. The solutions offered comes in two parts, firstly focusing on how to reduce food waste generally, then on how to save money dealing with what is left. At the heart of this innovative business is Rick Woods, an Engineer by profession who has a background in big firms such as Shell Oil, Amcor and Energy Australia. Acting as CEO of Green Eco Technologies has allowed him to stretch his abilities in new areas. “Over the years I have been privileged to have worked for a variety of leaders,” he tells us. “While all have had different levels of alignment with my own moral compass, I have learnt a lot from all of them. The most important thing I have learnt is that people respond to balanced feedback. Congratulate their successes, but don’t avoid discussing the failings either.” This focus on how to lead has been a major part of Rick’s success. He had made a point of empowering all of his employees to thrive. “For me personally, I have always got most reward from building teams into high performers,” he says. “As the most senior leader in the business, one does not need to have all the answers,” he explains. “By seeking out and listening to staff at all levels, the business grows faster and is more able to respond quickly to the many headwinds and the opportunities businesses face today.” This focus on the team was key to surviving the COVID-19 pandemic. “The strong pipeline of customers that we had seeking our services dried up over night as they were, rightly, focused on staying alive themselves,” Rick tells us. “The challenge was not to panic, but to take a deep breath and deal with what was in front of us.” The situation did unfortunately lead to some staff layoffs, but Green Eco Technologies weathered the storm and is now a stronger business as a result. “We have a broader customer base, a more refined technology and an even hungrier workforce,” Rick says with a grin. Looking ahead, the future seems bright for the Green Eco Technologies team. “We are introducing new models of the WasteMaster to satisfy varying sized businesses with different applications,” Rick explains, “and we are expanding globally into markets that are focused on greenhouse gas and cost reductions. We are also working with research organisations to develop higher order applications for the WasteMaster residue which will make an even larger environmental contribution in the future.” As the green revolution continues apace, the need for new technologies has become clear. Finding these new technologies will not just depend on the skills of innovators in the industry, but on the teams who bring those innovations to life. The success of Rick Woods is not just in his engineering prowess, but in the passion he inspires in all of his team members. We cannot wait to see what he does next! CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 9 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 11 2022 9 Mar22259 CEO of the Year, 2022 – Dubai, the United Arab Emirates Established to address a prevailing global need for high quality, efficient, and effective recruitment, Redholt has developed a reputation for operating at pace and to unflappable standards. Critically, its value proposition is to elevate the quality of research used in headhunting and recruitment. In doing so, it uses a system that focuses on three different levels of value in order to ensure that the information and resulting connections it provides are sound. With plenty of experience and his wife, Amanda Redmond, supporting the growth of the business, CEO Chris Redmond has led Redholt to major success. Redholt has gained international renown for its enviable recruitment research and its central belief in robust and forensic methodologies, which is something that is maintained throughout its international searches so that it can reliably find the right people for the right job. It also strives to bring to its clients’ work is all about digital enablement. Therefore, in a world where businesses pivoting to digital operations is more and more common, it has secured itself as a front runner by having already implemented digital and remote solutions for recruitment. Redholt has been making use of video recruitment, remote psychometric evaluations, and longdistance relationship building for years. Moreover, utilising each of these processes alongside a pioneering digital shortlist methodology, it has been able to save time and money for each client by giving busy hiring managers access to candidate information via a simple URL provided via email, WhatsApp, or QR code. Once a relationship has been established and the candidates for the shortlist have been identified, said shortlist provides a spectrum of details that the client will find critical in their decision making. The team is made up of many individuals all looking to make their mark on the world, for the better, and it is obvious that Redholt is a trendsetter in the every-evolving industry. Teamwork is approached in a light-hearted and fun way – so as to build morale and inspire people to express who they are. This encourages people to work better, smarter, and with ease, rather than feeling pressured and potentially stifled. As part of the team CEO of Redholt, Chris Redmond, has a person centred leadership style that has always influenced his approach. He understands that people make mistakes and deserve the opportunity to grow from them instead of simply facing penalties. This has resulted in a company where everyone does their best to deliver, is on the same page, and allows clients the utmost peace of mind, creating accountability and excellence in the face of adversity, even in the face of challenges like the pandemic. Chris enthuses, “Each and every one of our team represent the values of the business that Amanda and I have built and invested everything in over the last six years of our life. We delegate authority, we create accountability, and we invest in training for our staff every single day. I feel as though it is incumbent on me to create an environment where people can speak freely and directly about anything relevant to the business.” Chris is also a shareholder of BobCheck.io (www.Bobcheck. io), a tracking platform for candidates’ employment histories. He is founder of www. OTTpro.io – which is made up of ground-breaking OTT specialists and consultants. Also, as the Non-Exec Director of Recruitment Entrepreneur Middle East, a private equity firm that invests in Recruitment companies Chris has worked hard to succeed – and it has truly paid off. Recruitment Entrepreneur Middle East’s chairman is James Caan (https://www.james-caan. com/), and Chris has worked alongside him to create something monumental. Chris has been determined to instil market specificity into each of the company’s offerings, resulting in services such as OTTRED. Critically, OTTRED has been created for the OTT, streaming, and broadcasting sector. With the CEO – and therefore the company – being lauded as one of the top 10 influences in the OTT sector by Fx Digital, Chris and his wife Amanda have developed a reputation for shirking the industry trend of transactional recruitment in favour of in-depth, personable, and empathic service. Crucially, such outstanding intrinsic processes have ensured it could step up to the plate for its clients in the face of high demand, and it is looking forward to diversifying and growing moving forward, with the CEO having been announced as a nonexecutive director for James Cann recruitment, something that heralds even further progress within its industry for Redholt as a company. Such innovations stem from the company’s CEO, Shweta Saxena, who CEO Monthly is proud to name CEO of the Year, 2022 - England, the United Kingdom. Join us as we learn more about MachineMax and its trailblazing CEO. nnovation and MachineMax go hand in hand – they are, in essence, synonymous. The award-winning company is best known for its premium equipment management platform and universal telematics sensors for offhighway fleets that work with customers to measure key metrics. Designed to help clients become more efficient and productive, MachineMax’s solutions are revolutionary, helping professionals steer away from tracking equipment utilisation manually and introducing them to the digital sphere. The product of a collaboration between Shell and BCG Digital Ventures, MachineMax was developed to revolutionise the heavy equipment industry, and in turn, it is supported by a team of engineers, scientists, designers, and industry professionals. Four years later and Shell has become the sole owner of MachineMax, with the latter company benefiting from Shell’s newly formed Sectors & Decarbonisation business, which is comprised of expert sectoral teams who offer MachineMax as an effective solution for mining, construction, manufacturing, and agriculture customers. As such, it is clear that the MachineMax approach has been designed with the client in mind. In terms of technology, MachineMax is leading the way for its industry, transforming data from any source into a single platform view, providing customers with fast access to the right data for in the moment and strategic decisions. MachineMax offers third party integration, battery powered sensors, machine cloud-based algorithms, artificial intelligence, AEMP APIs, and multiple applications, the latter meaning that the intuitive platform is connected to other ConTech specialists who cover maintenance, rental management, safety data and opportunities to include contextual data such as weather and bespoke mapping. Consequently, the MachineMax platform boasts tangible results, such as a 40% productivity improvement and approximately $15 thousand in savings per machine per year. Behind these innovations is the company’s CEO, Shweta Saxena. Prior to working in product development, Shweta worked in sales, undertaking projects for the computer technology leaders, Dell. It was here that her product development journey began, as her boss – who saw something in her that she couldn’t see in herself – pushed her to fill the vacancy. In her leadership roles, Shweta endeavours to continue this train of thought, introducing ingenuity and creativity into Aug22203 I otherwise highly academic roles. This, therefore, provides MachineMax with an edge over its competitors as it provides a fresh take on a stagnated industry. Blending mathematics, product development, and entrepreneurialism together, Shweta delved into the MachineMax project, initially taking on the role of co-founder and CPO. After four years in this role, Shweta evolved into the CEO position, which served as a rather natural development. Bringing 18 years of digital innovation experience and a degree in Mathematics to the position, it is clear that Shweta was more than prepared for the enormous undertaking, with her previous projects involving the launch of startups and products for established brands, including Lego, Dell International, and BCG-DV. Her past experience has helped to dictate and form MachineMax’s fundamental values, which are primarily focused on providing the best possible products and services to clients. In fact, one of its core values states that the company is ‘customer Designed to help clients become more efficient and productive, MachineMax’s solutions are revolutionary, helping professionals steer away from tracking equipment utilisation manually and introducing them to the digital sphere. “ “

Working with clients in both the public and private sectors, The Assessment Toolbox specialises in the provision of HR consulting services, psychometric assessments and bespoke design competency-based simulation tools. Moreover, it boasts staff across three offices, and a reliable network of associates across the country, which enables The Assessment Toolbox to provide a seamless service to its clients, no matter where they’re based in the nation. ‘I bought the company in 2019 just before the pandemic started. During the 2nd quarter of 2020 we were impacted by being unable to deliver our services, however I communicated to all the staff on a daily basis with a general e-mail to keep them positive and motivated during the uncertain times. I used this time to develop a strategy to firstly recover and secondly to establish serious growth,’ explains Arthur Butler. Perhaps better known as Attie Butler, the Owner of The Assessment Toolbox he also has several other ventures within his portfolio, including being co-founder and CEO of Ignite Advisory, a well-established consulting business focusing on public sector consulting that under his leadership pioneered various unique solutions including performance management and shared services. He is also the founder and CEO of HRMConnect, a company focusing on human resource management consulting uniquely linked to strategy deployment ensuring return on employee investment. He is a published author, has acted as Chairperson of School Governing Bodies, and has lectured at the University of Stellenbosch’s School of Public Leadership and its Business School. Prior to fulfilling his own business ventures, Attie served as Senior Manager at Deloitte, where he focused on strategy and innovation and on the coordination of local government consulting. He also worked as an Auditor managing an Audit Centre at the Office of the Auditor-General. When asked about these roles, Attie tells us, ‘I am extremely grateful for the experience gained at the office of the Auditor General […] and at Deloitte. Deloitte is amazing in employee development and growth, and I have learnt how important it is to care for your staff and to develop them on all levels. The national and international exposure, the training and development experienced at the best of the best, was special and allowed me to do what I do best.’ Such experiences have informed Attie’s approach to leadership, which is centred around supporting his team members and creating a positive working environment. In his own words, he believes in maintaining open communication with all staff, forging a family environment where everyone cares for each other, look out for others, and support each other. He prefers to act as a team member, and not the unreachable boss in the glass office – he wants to lead by example. Consequently, this approach allows The Assessment Toolbox and its team to consistently exceed its clients’ expectations and deliver exceptional standards of work. ‘I also share the financial targets and celebrating the achievement with all staff, so that each of us know what we are working for and what we have achieved. This comes with great rewards for great achievements and recognition for when one of us makes a difference. I have also introduced a trophy system whereby staff can recognise each other when they have identified exceptional work or where someone goes the extra mile. I also believe that every employee

CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 14 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 11 2022 8 People Power! In today’s world, organisations need to act with purpose and with high impact as much as possible. Erika Giorgana is Humand CEO & Founder, as well as a passionate believer in the power of people and the impact they can have on businesses. Named CEO of the Year, 2022 – London, the United Kingdom, by the team at CEO Monthly, we thought it was the right time to catch up with Erika to uncover more. ounded just five years ago, Humand had already managed to establish itself as a leading player, especially when companies are looking for people who can revolutionise the way they work. Businesses will need to find ways of becoming simpler, faster, and more flexible, and achieving this will require the right people in the right positions. Big companies struggle because they cannot always provide a boutique service – one perfectly matched to the needs of the business. That’s where Humand thrives. Humand offers a way of achieving large-scale business transformation, leveraging digitalisation and agility to help organisations from every industry and of any size to reconfigure their operating models. For them, however, it’s not the technology that is most important to achieving success. It’s the people. That’s the secret that has allowed its CEO & Founder, Erika Giorgana, to thrive in an immensely competitive sector. Erika has overseen growth at a tremendous rate whilst at Humand, building on her own deep experience at the frontline of organisational agility. Her strength of purpose has seen her partner up with many passionate leaders, all of whom are thinking towards the future of what business can and will be. “We are consultants, but we have a strong ‘why’, behind everything that we do,” Erika explains. “Our Purpose is to mobilize organizations into Purposeful and High-Impact Human systems. At Humand, “we sell what we do.” Since opening the company’s doors, Erika has managed to build an incredible team of experts around her who not only share her dream, but have her passion for the field. “We collaborate, experiment, innovate, and deliver value at speed,” she says with a smile. “We are not just advisors – we work hand in hand with our client’s transformation teams to make what they believe is almost impossible, possible.” Erika doesn’t just offer empty words when it comes to growth. She applies the same techniques to her clients as she does to her own company. Whilst the big firms such as McKinsey, BCG, and Bain bring their own reputations and brand recognition to the table, she has immense experience on her side, not just on how to support these businesses, but on how to support her own staff. These thoughts have very much guided her approach to running her own business. “I believe top-down leadership is outdated, and, more importantly, counterproductive,” she tells us. “Unfortunately, there are still too many organisations and leaders that haven’t realised that by focusing too much on profit and end goals, and not on people, whether it’s employees or consumers, they are making it more difficult to achieve their own desired outcomes.” In Erika’s experience, leadership has to change in order to ensure that businesses are able to thrive in an ever-changing world. “A leader’s main responsibility is to help people feel purposeful, motivated, and energised so they can bring their best selves to work,” she tells us. “It is not easy to achieve this. It takes hard work and new mindset. Every day I try to do my best to be a servant leader, to be humble and to do everything that is in my hands to help the people from my team grow as human beings, providing tangible and emotional support as they do so.” As a result, Humand has been able to develop a team atmosphere where anyone and everyone feels welcome to contribute to the group. Instead of everyone being siloed into specific tasks, the company structure builds on each person’s strengths and Oct22207 F accepts their weaknesses. “At Humand, we’ve realised that we can’t transform businesses and provide a world class experience without talented and passionate people,” Erika explains. “Once we find the best talent, we make sure we give them the freedom and foundation to shine at their brightest.” This structure has allowed the team to make quicker decisions better than many other consultancies. There are no hierarchies, with the business built around multiple empowered teams. Each is responsible for specific clients, with the ability to set their own objectives, key results and backlog. These small but powerful teams are multidisciplinary, meaning that a mix of skills is always on hand. Working in this agile fashion has allowed Humand to support clients through varying challenges with a consistent degree of success. “This, I believe, creates an atmosphere that encourages everyone to be themselves and be at their best,” Erika tells us. The results certainly speak to this sterling effort. The challenge for Erika, however, remains finding top talent to support her and the team she has been proud to build. “For us finding the right skills is super important, but not everything,” she explains. “We also need people who

CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 15 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 11 2022 9 match our values, vision, and, most importantly, our purpose. If there’s anything the last few years has taught us is, it’s that skills are important, but people who share your vision and are aligned to your purpose can not only grow within the organisation but grow the organisation. So, finding the combination of the two is our biggest challenge.” Whilst it’s clear that people are at the heart of Humand, technology has an increasingly important role to play. “During the past three years, at Humand, we have been experimenting with more technology-heavy offerings,” Erika tells us. “One of our most important has been the development of an online tool that allows our customers make their agile people ecosystem come to life. Our platform helps companies create agile HR processes and build responsive teams through a skill-based approach.” Development of this exciting idea is still ongoing, with 2023 seeing the launch of a new and improved version of this platform. For Erika, her team, and her clients, it’s certain to be a gamechanger! Looking forward, Erika plans to continue on a path of pushing into bold new territory and exploring brave new ways of working. “If I assume that my experience of the last 16 years is what’s going to help me be successful in the next few, I would be very wrong!” she laughs. “I know that what got me here will not necessarily get me there. So, my plans for the future are basically focused on listening to our clients’ needs, and continuing to innovate and learn new skills.” Company: Humand Name: Erika Giorgana - Humand CEO & Founder/ Email: [email protected] Web Address: www.humand.com

CEO MONTHLY / CEO OF THE YEAR 2022 16 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 11 2022 11 The Culture of Continuous Development & Social Consciousness Every year our editors reach out to different industry specialists, in order to define a short list and the winner of our prestigious award for CEO of the Year. In 2022 a CEO from a different sector that we are used to seeing, has made the short list and made the final list. This is Newton Queiroz, who works as the CEO of Europ Assistance Brazil (a 24-hour assistance company – part of the insurance ecosystem). In this article we had the chance to speak to Newton Queiroz as he wins the CEO of the Year, 2022 for Brazil. Starting his professional career early, Newton Queiroz, has been able to experience different work cultures, from different segments of the insurance industry, and on a global level as he has worked abroad in North America, Europe and Latin America. This diversity is one of the main points, in his view, which became a pillar for his view of Continuous Development, in all segments of his life. From his personal part to his professional career. Queiroz believes that in order to maintain his energy level and interest in different tasks, while still being relevant to others, is to always be on top of what is always happening and keep himself curious. It has been this curiosity and desire to learn, that shaped his professional career and took him to take important positions around the globe for different companies. Also, he is known by many as a “Transformational Professional”, this for his focus on working with areas/ companies that were always either looking to turn around, start green-field operations or to transform their own business. Along his more than 20 years in the insurance industry, Newton, has supported the transformation of several areas and organizations, and again he sees as one of the strong pillars for this drive that he must transform, the curiosity of learning new ideas and of trying new ways to solve challenges. As important as the transformational trace that Queiroz carries, has been his social consciousness which has, transformed what was a profession to a passion. “I started working in insurance as a result of my father being in the industry, but with time it grew on me and when I realized, it was already part of me. However, with time I got to standard how powerful protection via insurance and/or assistance can be, specially for the least favour financially in society. Since this realization, I have made part of my everyday routine to look for ways to increase the protection safety net of society via the products that the company I work for deals.” Queiroz always focus on passing his view, and hopefully his passion, to the team that works with him, as well as the clients and prospects. He wants people to understand that is possible to have a financially viable product, with profitability, and at the same time with a value that can be paid by a large sector of society, with the aim to provide relieve in time of need (from the break down of a car, to the medical assistance of a traveller). At all the corporations that he has worked, Newton has been a leader that the team look for guidance and strength throughout every business matter, and he delivers on time. Newton’s leadership style is one to inspire and encourage others. His hard work and excellent ethics ensure that the entire team learns from each other. He tells us, “I am an inclusive leader that likes to talk to everyone at the company, with a horizontal view instead of vertical with hierarchy. “I understand that we all learn from each other. As such, all interactions are important and valid. I am hands on and like to lead by example and not just words. I am passionate about what I do and look to pass this feeling to all.” Over the years, Newton has grown and flourished into the unbreakable leader that he is today. Leaving no stone unturned, he is a CEO looking for a way to push his team forward, for the sake of their wellbeing, livelihood, and the success of each client. He shares, “I would summarize by saying I became a more reachable leader, valuing a lot the soft skills, understanding different realities, but always with the focus on results, since without results we cannot keep the company going and invest in the team or focus on the social part as well.” With regards to the future, Newton highlights the important of support for “social network safety, which can be partially improved via insurance and assistance services” for which he makes clear that himself and the team he works within, will always be ready to support. His efforts to always work hard and succeed at overcoming every hurdle speaks volumes. Newton finalizes by remind the importance of always be looking for new ways to innovate, develop and learn – both personally and professionally. For him, this is the one (if not the main) way to keep relevant and bring benefit to all that work in your reach. With his rich experience, plus his constant work in mentoring and leading, Newton has been appointed by specialists and won CEO of the Year, 2022, Brazil – and we want to truly congratulate him on his well-earned win.
