The schools are run as a strategic partnership between the government and the private sector. The government supplies public funding, and the schools are privately operated. When the first school opened, it welcomed 2,700 students. By mid-2022, such was the popularity of the Charter School model that the number of schools had Abu Dhabi company, New Century Education does education differently. The company, known as NCE, runs Charter Schools to equip the leaders of tomorrow with the tools they need to succeed. This isn’t Maggie’s first role at NCE, either, having worked as General Manager for 10 months prior to stepping up as CEO. Her experience within the education sector is vast, having also served as Vice President School Improvement KSA at GEMS Education, and as CEO at The Every Child, Every Day Academy Trust. Speaking about being a leader, Maggie states, “We are all different and leaders must differentiate in the same way as a teacher needs to with their student. Taking time to get to know our staff is the biggest challenge as CEO with competing demands and deadlines.
