Diligently guided by entrepreneur, Zeynep Demirbilek, the firm was recently celebrated for its success in the Most Influential CEO Awards 2023. We speak to Zeynep to find out more about the company and her leadership style. Service Club Delivery is the world’s only job platform specifically geared towards the delivery industry. Established by Turkish/British businesswoman Zeynep Demirbilek, the platform was designed from the ground up to educate the delivery driver demographic via its academy and provide them access to job opportunities in their location. “I’m a problem solver by nature,” Zeynep tells us, explaining the rationale behind the firm’s inception. “My entrepreneurial brain wanted to solve a couple of problems I noticed in the delivery sector.” In plain terms, Zeynep identified that the delivery industry is suffering from the lack of trained, reliable couriers and drivers that are committed to the job. Delivery drivers and couriers are suffering from the poor conditions they are offered. Tools, such as delivery apps have a high cost associated with quality leads and a high staff rotation or turnover rate. There is also a lack of continuous jobs and consistent income for delivery drivers. “This is an industry where there is an increasing demand for delivery couriers yet the cost of filtered lead generation is extremely high,” Zeynep continues. “So, what if there was a platform that could solve all of these issues? Service Club gives value to both sides of the industry.” Service Club’s focal point is the delivery drivers and it offers free certified education in more than 80 topics, and not merely delivery related topics, in fact, users can even learn basic coding! As well as this, there is 24/7 support and guidance, including advice on how to get cheaper insurance, through to where to find the nearest toilet on a day spent outdoors; continuous job opportunities, from not only one company but from all of them, particularly focusing on those who have recently lost their jobs; and mentoring for those who want to move to office jobs. These are just a handful of the Service Club offerings provided to the driver and courier community, and it is all free of charge. Zeynep boasts a lucrative career furnished with winning multi-millionpound UK Government contracts, as well as winning 12 national excellence awards to date for the services her businesses provided to the UK public sector and for the technologies she created for training, recruitment, cost savings, and efficiency. Her previous platform ORBIT™ individually trained over 15,000 language service professionals and made them available at short notice to over one million National Health Service staff in the UK. The system won awards for its Ecosystem, CRM, as well as the quantifiable cost savings and efficiency outcomes achieved for its users. It’s not always been plain sailing for Zeynep, however. Her career challenges have been plentiful, yet the one which arises most frequently is that of running a multinational business as a female entrepreneur. “The only way to fight the stigma against female entrepreneurs is to stop complaining about it and showing your value with your work,” she enthuses. “I am tough – “I can lead armies to a war” kind of tough!” Whilst Zeynep’s success is testament to this tough persona and tireless attitude, with her recently being recognised in the Most Influential CEO Awards and named Most Influential Delivery Technology CEO 2023 - West Europe, she is also quick to sing the praises of her talented workforce which she describes as “talented” and “brave”. “In a world where most people started to think they should make a ton of money with their ideas, the number of those who have the courage and drive to execute their ideas is going down every day... And when we find them, we bend over backwards to keep them happy!” Zeynep acknowledges that in her earlier days at Service Club, her direct style was hard on some younger members of the team. However, a few years down the line, she is delighted to see that her employees are all working together and learning from each other. Whilst Service Club’s team is learning that nothing ever happens without full dedication and hard work, Zeynep is learning that there is life outside the office. The passion, drive, and energy that have always shaped her leadership style are still fiercely apparent, however she has chosen to channel a lot of this energy into her family life. “When you have such big plans for your business, your personal plans become secondary.
