Furthermore, some of these team members have been investing in the California Carbon market since its inception. Before founding Clear Sky Advisers, Shawn first served as a private banker for the Bank of Nova Scotia throughout the 90s, before he embarked on his impressive legal career. Initially, he worked as an associate for various notable law firms including Fried Frank, Dewey LeBoeuf, Norton Rose Fulbright, and Bryan Cave. Following this, Shawn took on several managerial positions, serving as Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of a multi-billion-dollar asset management company. Between 2014 and 2015, he was responsible for the U.S. Brevan Howard firm spin-out, with General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer positions at Cheyne (US) and Guggenheim Partners. Over the years, Shawn has overseen and provided legal, regulatory, operations, and compliance expertise to advisors with assets under supervision in excess of 125 billion dollars.
