The company serves B2C clients who subscribe to its services to receive daily analysis on various markets, such as stocks, commodities, cryptos, metals, and indices. Emre Şentürk is COO of HKCM, a seasoned and innovative leader with an exceptional background in methodological research and capital markets. Within HKCM, Emre is responsible for the coordination between the different departments, designing projects, structuring workflows and systems, and generally overseeing the progress of HKCM’s operative work. Such duties entail ensuring that the team meets deadlines and stays within planned budgets, as well as taking on employer development and leading expansion projects – such as internationalisation efforts or expanding into new service areas. When Emre first joined the company in January 2021, the HKCM team was seven members strong: three founders, an analysist, a project manager, an accountant, and Emre, a financial writer. From the very first day, Emre began to provide insights into how to improve HKCM’s service, website, marketing, and internal systems. In the following months, the team improved many of these areas and Emre invested significant time and energy into implementing the changes. Later, HKCM began to grow, and Emre was entrusted with building a Writing and Update Department. “I led this department until October 2023,” he recalled. “In the meantime, I introduced many new workflows, guided my colleagues through change processes, and ensured that the daily operations always increased in quality. The founders approached me in October 2023 and offered me the position of COO, which I happily accepted. From there, I reactivated idle projects, such as our mobile app, which we then launched in seven months after it had been idle for oneand-a-half-years. Further, we remodelled our customer dashboard and deepened the customer journey.” Today, HKCM stands with approximately 50 employees across two offices, with more than one million followers across all social media platforms. Over the last couple of years, the company has risen to take its place as the market leader in the DACH region’s segment. To maintain the smooth functioning of the company and ensure sustainable growth, Emre takes a structured approach geared towards constant adaption. “Workflows, requirements, goals, responsibilities, resources, and ideas need to be structured and communicated clearly,” he explained. “Structure is paramount. We only behave the way we do because the structure allows us to. Therefore, new projects are planned in thorough detail and the expectations are communicated clearly and repeatedly. Once I have the feeling that all participants truly grasp the intention of the project, we delegate tasks in written form and in much detail.” Not only does this ensure that each member of the team is working in complete alignment with the overall mission and objectives but also frees up the employees’ mental capacity for creative tasks and professional development. Alongside this, Emre recognises that another instrumental factor in HKCM’s success is team drive; if the employee is not motivated to do more than their best work each and every day, the team will ultimately never achieve optimal, or even satisfactory, results. Of course, as with any successful COO, Emre’s time at HKCM has not come without its challenges. But Emre, named Europe’s COO of the Year 2025 in Fintech Growth and Operations, has learned from his vast experiences. He shared with us the following advice: “Managing perceptions is very difficult. Within the frameworks of success that are important to the company, there is little room for interpretation on what the goals are. Yet, people do bring in their emotions and defend them dearly at times.
